Houston Demo Sessions · TRAK Pilot

Book a Houston Test Paddle

Structured demo sessions on Houston-area waters. See the TRAK 2.0 assembled, paddle it yourself, and ask everything before you decide.

What's included

What happens at a test paddle session

A demo session is a structured introduction to the TRAK 2.0 — not a sales event. The goal is to give you enough real experience to make an honest decision about whether it fits your paddling life.

📦
Full assembly walkthrough

We start on dry land. I assemble the kayak from bag to water while you watch, then you work through the key steps yourself with guidance. By the end you'll understand the process and can judge whether it's manageable for your situation.

🛶
On-water time in the kayak

You paddle the TRAK 2.0 on the water — enough time to feel how it tracks, how it edges, and how it responds. Not a short loop. Long enough to form a real opinion.

🎛️
Rocker adjustment demonstration

I'll demonstrate the adjustable rocker system on the water and explain how it applies to the Houston waterways you're likely to paddle — bayous vs. Galveston Bay conditions.

💬
Q&A — storage, transport, care, pricing

Bring your questions. Storage in your apartment, transport in your car, saltwater care, Texas heat — all of it. I'll give you honest answers, not a pitch.

Demo locations

Where sessions run

I match the location to your experience level and what you want to get out of the session. Options across the Houston metro area.

Buffalo Bayou

Best for: beginners, first-time kayakers, learning the assembly process. Protected flatwater, easy access, central Houston location.

Armand Bayou

Best for: intermediate paddlers wanting a taste of coastal and tidal water. Nature preserve, wildlife-rich, more sheltered than open bay.

Clear Lake

Best for: paddlers who want real open-water exposure and tidal influence. Good intermediate step between bayou and Galveston Bay.

Galveston Bay

Best for: experienced paddlers who want to test the kayak in coastal conditions. Available by arrangement for paddlers with existing sea kayak experience.

🗓️

Book via TRAK's official test paddle page

Sessions are scheduled through TRAK Kayaks' booking system. After booking, I'll follow up directly to confirm location, logistics, and what to bring.

Book a Test Paddle Session

What to bring

  • Clothes you're comfortable getting wet in (it's a kayak, not a boat ride)
  • Water, sunscreen, and a hat — Texas sun applies year-round
  • Closed-toe shoes that can get wet
  • Your questions — bring the specific ones, the ones you've been researching for weeks

PFDs are provided for all demo sessions. You don't need to own any kayaking gear to participate in a test paddle.

Common questions

Before you book

About the session
Do I need kayaking experience to do a demo?

No. I run sessions for complete beginners as well as experienced paddlers. The session adapts to your background. If you've never been in a kayak before, Buffalo Bayou is the right starting point. If you've been paddling for years and want to compare the TRAK to composite sea kayaks you've paddled, we can do that too.

How long does a session take?

Plan for 2 to 2.5 hours including assembly, on-water time, and Q&A. Sessions aren't rushed — if you want more time on the water or have more questions, we don't cut it short.

Is this a sales event?

No. The goal is to give you enough real experience to make your own decision. If you paddle it and decide it's not right for you, that's a good outcome too — you've saved yourself a significant purchase. If you want to buy, I'll share the affiliate link that takes you to TRAK's official purchase page.

Is there a cost for the demo?

Demo sessions are offered at no charge. Confirm details when booking through TRAK's official test paddle page.
